Abstract: The TbBO3-GaBO3 phase diagram was investigated. The system was found to comprise solid solutions based on TbGa₃(BO₃)₄, TbBO₃ and GaBO₃ compounds. The detection of non-stoichiometry in TbGa₃(BO₃)₄ is crucial, as it directly influences the material's functional properties. The green luminescence exhibited by all samples, with the exception of those containing undoped GaBO₃, was found to be correlated with the 5D3→7F6 electron transition of Tb³⁺. The potential of grown Tb1.05Bi0.03Ga2.92(BO3)4 crystals for second harmonic generation from Nd:YAG was demonstrated by their efficiency (deff), which was found to be 2.35 times higher than that of KH2PO4 (KDP) crystals.
