Abstract: The possibilities of gas chromatography for determination of physicochemical properties of the surface are demonstrated. Changes in the surface properties of poly(1-trimethylsilyl-1-propyne) (PTMSP) with time were investigated. It was found that with the lapse of time the sorption-desorption processes proceed mainly in mesopores due to decreasing the polymer micropore volume. The formation of a chemically more uniform surface strongly increases the symmetry of chromatographic peaks and the column efficiency.
