Реферат: Aluminum-based microporous cermet compounds can be advantageous catalysts in some hydrocarbon conversion reactions. Their thermal conductivity is the limiting factor that affects the catalytic per-formance and the thermal shock resistance of the monolith-shaped products. A novel cermet-based composites with the metal foam insertions were synthesized by the low-temperature hydro-thermal synthesis. Open-cell metal foams made from nickel, copper or cupronickel were filled with powders made by the high-energy mechanical alloying (Fe-Al, Cu-Fe-Al, Cu-Al). Then the preforms were immersed into boiling water for several hours, dried and calcined at 550-600oC. Thus, rigid micro-porous co-continuous composites were achieved. Their thermal conductivity was remarkably higher as com-pared to the not-reinforced cermet. There was no effect of the metal foam insertion on mechanical strength, however, catastrophic fracture at mechanical loading was eliminated, and the shape of the stress-strain curves changed.
