Abstract: Methane reforming with carbon dioxide to synthesis gas w as investigated over a series Ni3Al catalysts promoted by Pt. These catalysts were characterized by XRD (in situ, ex situ), DTA-TG, SEM, TEM, EDS, XPS. A new nonordinary preparation method of self-propagating high temperature synthesis for Ni-Al systems has been developed. An effective approach based on the ion implantation has been developed for the modification of Ni3Al intermetallide. Pt-implanted Ni3Al superalloy was the highly active and durable metal catalyst for the reforming of methane with carbon dioxide to synthesis gas.
