Abstract: A comparison of heterogeneous vapor-phase oxidation of 3-picoline over V-Ti-O system by using both sources of energy, conventional and microwave was performed. Application of microwave energy as a remote heating source to the heterogeneous vapor-phase oxidation of 3-picoline has several new advantages. This method consumes less energy and creates an optimal temperature profile in vanadium-containing catalyst particles making a positive contribution to the selectivity and capacity of the green method of nicotinic acid synthesis.
