Title compds. are prepd. by the reaction of olefins, CO, and H in the presence of a catalyst at an elevated temp. To simplify the technol. and increase productivity, the catalyst consists of a soln. of (2.5-62.5) × 10-3 mol/g Pd(OAc)2 and 1-5 equiv Ph3P in CF3CO2H contg. 4-8 vol.% H2O, and the reaction is carried out at 30-70° and atm. pressure using H-CO-olefin vol. ratio 1:0.8-1.1:1.9-2.1.
