Elemental S is produced from aq. solns. of inorg. compds. of S by a simplified procedure by treating the aq. solns. of inorg. compds. of S with H2S at pH 4.0-6.0 and 20-80° in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a soln. of Al or Si oxides or hydroxides in HF with a concn. of the above elements 1 × 10-4-2 × 10-1 mol/L.
