                            The title catalyst was prepd. by impregnating a support with a Sn compd. soln., drying and calcining with subsequent impregnation with a Pt compd. soln., drying, calcining, and redn. with H.  In order to obtain a catalyst with high activity and stability, after impregnating with a Sn compd., drying, and calcining the support, was treated with H at 500-600°.
