The activity of the title catalyst contg. a transition metal organometallic compd. increased and the mol. wt. of the prepd. polymers was controlled by using a support consisting of silica gel, aluminosilicate, or Al2O3 which contained on its surface functional groups ZCl, ZOSiCl3, ZOSnX3, or ZOPCl2 (Z = Si or Al atom of the support, X = halogen).
