Polyethylene [9002-88-4] was produced by polymn. of C2H4 in a gaseous phase in the presence of a Cr oxide catalyst which was supplied into the reaction zone in the form of suspension in liq. C2H4. The temp. of the suspension was kept at -10 to -30.deg. (at the appropriate equil. pressure of C2H4 vapors) to prevent the reaction between the components of the suspension.
