Abstract: The possibility of using the methods of determination of the thickness of thin elongated crystals by microdiffraction from microcrystalline plates and by contrast of a direct image was shown by studying samples of bayerite. On the basis of results of measurements and analysis of electron microscope images it was concluded that the basic morphological form of the crystals studied is truncated cones made up of stacks of plates 40-200 angstrom.
