Abstract: Using the absolute rate theory, some general formulas are derived for description of the effect of the lateral interactions of adsorbed molecules of two kinds on the rate constants of monomolecular desorption and adsorption, associative desorption and dissociative adsorption, the Eley-Rideal and Langmuir-Hinshelwood reactions. The rate constants of these processes are expressed through the probabilities of distribution of particles on surface, calculated in the quasi-chemical approximation. Numerical calculation of dependence on the rate constants of desorption and the Langmuir-Hinshelwood reaction on surface coverages are presented. Different approximations used earlier for description of the influence of the lateral interaction on the rate of desorption are compared. The influence of ordering of adsorbed molecules on the precursor state kinetics of monomolecular adsorption and desorption is considered.
