Abstract: The active species of the catalyst systems based on biomimetic iron complexes with aminopyridine ligands and various oxidants were studied. Depending on the nature of aminopyridine ligand, the catalyst systems exhibit EPR signals of three types of iron-oxygen intermediates I – III that are able to directly oxygenate C=C and C–H groups at low temperatures. Catalyst systems based on considered iron complexes were compared towards enantioselective epoxidation of chalcone, chemoselective hydroxylation of cyclohexane and regioselective hydroxylation of adamantane
