Abstract:
The information on the structure of the telomer that was produced by the reaction of thiourea with 4,5-dichloro-2-dichloromethylene-4-cyclopentene-1,3-dione have been refined. Mixing of acetone solutions of 4,5-dichloro2-dichloromethylene-4-cyclopentene-1,3-dione and thiourea leads to immediate and quantitative formation of the telomer precipitate, which is a Möbius aromatic compound in which half of carbon atoms are simultaneously in saturated and unsaturated state due to the involvement of electron-deficient six-electron four-centered (6e – 4c) ı-bonds.
